Introduction
In the world of modern board games, itâs often the big boxes and sprawling miniatures that grab attention⌠but sometimes, a clever little abstract game can surprise you the most. CoNNNect is exactly that: a roll-and-write where every number you jot down brings you closer to building clever patterns, completing objectives, and ultimately outsmarting your opponents. With just a few dice, some pencils, and your own player sheet, the game challenges you to balance tactical decisions with a touch of luck, as you race to claim valuable âConnectsâ before anyone else does. Itâs quick to learn, highly interactive, and full of those satisfying âa-ha!â moments that make you want to play just one more round.

Let’s get it on the table
To get a game started, each player takes a pencil and a player sheet, writing their name in the box at the top.
In the middle of the table, the Connect-5 Shape Cards are shuffled and four of them are placed face up, with the rest returning to the box. The Connect-5 Score Cards are stacked in descending order so the highest value is on top.
Then, one Objective Card from each of the three decks is drawn and laid out in a row, creating the shared goals for the game.
The Dice Card is also placed within view of all players. Finally, a first player is chosen at random and given the three dice, ready to roll and start the first round.

Let’s play
Before diving into the first round, there is a brief warm-up that sets the stage. The starting player rolls all three dice, and everyone records the numbers exactly as shown in the special setup spaces on their sheet. The dice are rolled once more, and again the values are written down. These early placements create the first building blocks on every playerâs board, and from here the true puzzle begins.
The game then unfolds across twelve rounds, each one presenting new decisions and opportunities.
The active player rolls all three dice, choosing one to determine the zone where play will take place while the other two dictate the numbers to be written. All players, simultaneously, must inscribe those numbers into the chosen zone of their sheet, puzzling over how to arrange them to set up future patterns. Once the numbers are in place, players can seize the moment by claiming Connects, sequences of linked numbers that unlock powerful bonuses, earn points, and sometimes snatch opportunities away from rivals.
With the claims resolved, the dice move to the next player and a new round begins.
Round by round, the sheets fill with numbers, circles are completed, and lines of connections slowly emerge.
By the twelfth and final round, the tension peaks as every space count and every decision could tip the balance.
Once the last values are written and the final Connects claimed, players tally their points, celebrating completed circles, rewarding lines of connection, successful Connects of three, four, or five, and any objectives fulfilled along the way.
Penalties for unused free actions may cut into totals, and the player with the highest score claims victory as the ultimate master of connections.

Final Conclusion & rating
Weight: 2.00/ 5
Replayability:Â 8
Our rating:Â 7 out of 10 dices
In the end, we really enjoyed CoNNNect. Itâs a clever little roll-and-write that comes in a compact format, making it the kind of game you can easily toss into a bag and bring along to the beach, the campsite, or anywhere you want a quick but engaging play.
I did find myself wishing the game included an eraser, since every now and then you realize a number might have been better placed elsewhere đ.
Still, thatâs a small nitpick compared to the overall experience.
What really stands out is the replayability, thanks to the variety in objective cards and the different Connect-5 bonuses that change the puzzle from game to game.
Itâs a title that doesnât demand much time or space but delivers plenty of satisfying decisions and tactical moments.
CoNNNect is simply a fun game to pull out when you want something light, quick, and consistently enjoyable.
Thanks to Four Comma Game for this review copy and the opportunity to write about it.
